Icon9 Recycling too much work?

I have been told by a friend that as it is now a new year they can throw out another year's worth of client paperwork - over 200 boxes apparently of paper - as it has now passed the deadline of keeping things for seven years.

So they are going to burn it!

I asked why could then not recycle - and was told it is client data so may have some confidential information in it. Why not shred it then? Because it is too much work to shred that much paper.

Another contact says that since it has been made more difficult to get rid of large cardboard (only collected if you ring, or you can take it to the special recycling areas) they have started burning it.

I can understand on one level, but I think it is really sad. Who ever said that saving the planet would be easy?

There must be another way - any ideas?

Stephanie
