Default Calling service for small sized companies

Hi, my names Amad, and Ive set up a low cost international calling service, trading as Super Dial.

The business idea was to provide a solution for increased calling to abroad destinations, without the need for a physical calling card, with lower prices as there are fewer costs involved.

Super Dial has been running for nearly 2 years. The firtst target market was ethnic groups residing in the UK mainly asian origin. After more market research, the next route the company is headed is towards organisations and firms that have affiliations abroad (mainly USA, Australia, (West) Europe).

Using oftel statistics its evident that there is a growing market for international calling:

Use of pre-paid cards has increased to 8% of GB adults from 3%. (3.7 million users).
Ł10 per month on calls using pre-paid cards.

It's only natural that there is a move from pysical cards to digital. This is where Super Dial comes in. This will be an ideal soultion for web based companies.

It would be gratfully appreciated if someone with more business knowledge can direct me towards the type of companies I should target, or if I should keep to a domestic market?

The service differs from landline companies as theres no minimum pre-payment. To be eligable to benefit from the cheaper international rates a small business is going to have to upgrade to aleast a Ł250 line rental. And in the small print there are a select group of countries applicable, as a pose to Super Dial's extensive listing & no pre-payment. These are the immediate benefits I can identify.

Do you think this idea is of potential interest to small sized companies?

Dear Amad,
This sounds really interesting to me. I certainly think it is worth considering the SME market, as in this Internet world even small companies are operating globally. However as you rightly say, you will need to target carefully to ensure you only invest time and effort communicating to small and medium companies who actually do need to make International calls.

The benefit statement sounds good, it clearly can save money and reduce the risk (e.g. of paying out in advance).

I think you are doing the right thing by asking here - our members come from a wide area.

I would be very interested to hear what others think too (and I will have a think about how to access these companies - clearly the Web is a good start).

kind regards
Stephanie

Thanks very much for your prompt response. I'm used to promoting business on a general domestic market, companies is something new for me. I will talk to more people to establish what sector of companies to tackle. Thanks
