Default How do you know that sellers are bonified

Hello all: Is there something set up in BizFace that assures buyers of advertised items (from sellers) that items paid for will be delivered. It appears as though anyone could be in "business" selling things, but in reality they are only there posing as sellers in order to scam buyers out of hard earned cash. Any suggestions?

John

Hi John,

I have put another post with reference to buying from forum advertisers.

When a post is allowed to a general forum (such as Mobiles) this is intended for businesses to showcase themselves to fellow businesses and show what they have. We also have a Classifieds section on BizFace where the ads have to be paid for until we are sure about the staying power of a advertising member. To pay for an ad this has to be a PayPal transaction - so we can check if they have a legitimate account and they look almost kosher.

All products in classifieds can be paid for by PayPal (or credit card) we are set-up for PayPal for our members in classifieds to receive payment for sales. So if an advertiser of a phone choses not to do this and offers only a generic hotmail or yahoo account (or only a mobile phone number) as the contact/payment mechanism this should raise a red card immediately.

We offer Ads as a service to members to sell business to business - it is not our prime objective to be a mini ebay we are not a retail site we are a business forum.

We are only getting problems with the phone spammers and they are all over the internet - I delete dozens of obviously fraudulent adverts each week but still some get through unfortunately.

Anyone (a member or a casual visitor) who contacts some of these 'traders' does so at their own risk and we do not recommend any of our members to do so.

If a fraudulent trader is spotted by any member, PM me, and I will remove the post immediately and ban the registered user concerned.

regards

RoyMogg

Thank you Roy for following through with you posting. The seller I am dealing with wanted me to send a moneygram, but after cutting and pasting your PM you sent me, they have agreed to proceed via PAYPAL. I may use my credit card instead. I'll certainly keep you informed and updated with the transaction. Again...thank you.

When purchasing items from sources I find on the net that I have not ordered from before, I always use credit card, you can always go back to you credit card company to dispute the purchase if things go wrong.
