New members in particular do remember to set up your 'profile' to receive emails about posts and threads in the forums of special interest to you. Just click on 'edit options' and use the 'default thread subscription' choice to either get instant emails or weekly emails about posts in threads to which you have already posted yourself. It can be very easy to join something like this then forget all about it. By setting up an email alert if a white paper or some crucial advise is posted you won't miss it!

You can also 'subscribe' to forums so that you receive email information about them, even if you have not posted something there yourself (e.g. if you are interested in outsourcing but have not posted a comment on that forum). If you are not sure how to do this just let me know.

Don't forget you can add links, pictures and documents directly into your postings, to re-inforce your messages and help potential clients and partners get to know you even better.

For example, if you click on the little paperclip whilst typing in a post or reply, you are allowed to attach any type of document (up to a certain size). I have just attached the Birkbeck logo here (I am an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Organizational Psycology).

So have a play around and use the system to your advantage!
