The lighter side

Thought I would start this off as a thread first, and if it takes off we can set it aside with its own little area.

Here we can discuss silliness, the comic nature of business today, or anything that is not too 'serious' - as long as we remain within the ethical guides of course.

Any links to humerous websites etc., very welcome

Thanks for that, I don't get much time to search around to find such things but it is good sometimes to lighten up so you have saved me time.

Lightbulb Consumer approaches to money - The Scots live up to their reputation!

A study of cash machine usage which we analysed for a client, showed far fewer Scottish respondents claimed to draw out more than £100 a time. When asked about credit cards 23% of Londoners say they use a credit card for almost everything, compared to 13% of Scots - indeed 12% of those in Scotland say they have never applied for one. So perhaps the old stereotype of the Scottish is not so far off. The survey also showed that although fewer women than men say they use credit cards for everything, they were more likely to say they had no choice but to use a credit card. Men also tended to draw out more cash, which along with credit cards is often used as symbolic power.

Psychological studies show money is linked to aspects of power and prestige, but also to feelings of inadequacy and insecurity, distrust and anxiety. Although many money behaviours are linked to income, some attitudes have been found to be independent of financial standing. People with lots of money can be just as ‘mean’ as those short of cash. In terms of personality - stable extroverts have been shown to be more open, comfortable and free about using money than unstable introverts. ‘Free spenders’ reported themselves as being healthier and happier than ‘penny pinchers’ – who tended to report lower self esteem and worry more about finances, friends and family. So start spending your money!
