Well, it seemed to me that this was a sensible place to start a discussion about social networking!
Some companies have banned their staff from using social network sites whilst at work. Others keep an eye on what their staff say about them. Accenture, on the other hand, are using it to improve communications between staff!
I have just received an email about this:
Accenture has recently launched an internal social networking platform specifically aimed at aiding internal collaboration, called Accenture Collaboration 2.0, including, among other features, document preview search, a 'people profiles' tool and a fledgling internal company wiki. He explains how such web 2.0 tools can be used to help speed knowledge transfer within a business, and for other benefits.
