Intellectual property theft and leaking confidential information has become an increasing problem with the rise in web social networking, according to computer weekly. It seems to counteract this companies are using behavioural monitoring as a security tool. Plug in devices that monitor staff activities and alert administrators are increasingly used.

Although some companies ban social networking altogether, some are unable to do this because they use them for business, they have become a valuable resource.
